Are refurbished laptop grades standardised across sellers?

No, refurbished laptop grades are not standardised across sellers in India or globally. Each seller defines its own grade labels, so "Grade A" from one seller may correspond to "Grade B" from another, and neither may map to the same cosmetic or functional criteria. Common labels you will encounter include Grade A/B/C, Excellent/Good/Fair, Like New and Open Box, but the definitions behind them differ. This lack of standardisation means the grade label alone is insufficient for comparison shopping. What matters more is whether the seller publishes explicit grading criteria (covering battery health, cosmetic condition tolerances, component authenticity and functional test results), backs the grade with a written warranty, and offers a return window if the delivered condition does not match. When comparing sellers, ask to see the grading rubric, not just the label.
