Pricing and value
Do refurbished laptop prices drop over time, and when is the best time to buy?

Refurbished laptop prices do drift down over time, but more gradually and less predictably than new-laptop prices, because refurbished pricing tracks the supply of specific models rather than a fixed release calendar. When a particular business model comes off corporate fleets in large volumes, supply rises and prices for that model soften; when stock of a popular configuration runs low, prices firm up. So the best time to buy is less about waiting for a sale season and more about buying when the exact configuration you want is in good supply at a fair price. Festive periods and end-of-quarter windows can bring discounts, but a well-priced certified unit available today is usually better than gambling on a future drop, especially if you need the laptop now. Focus on getting a fair price (40 to 60% below new) with a warranty and a GST invoice rather than trying to time the market.
