Brand and model comparisons
Does brand matter more than configuration when buying refurbished?

Configuration matters more than brand for how a refurbished laptop will actually perform for you. The processor generation, RAM and SSD determine speed and how long the machine stays capable, while the brand mainly affects build quality, keyboard feel, service availability and resale. Among the big three business brands (Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook), all are well-built and reliable, so a better-specced unit of any of them will out-perform a weaker-specced unit of your "favourite" brand. The practical order: first fix the configuration you need (for example, a 10th to 12th Gen i5, 16GB RAM, an SSD), then choose among the brands that offer it at your budget, using brand for tie-breakers like keyboard preference or local service. Brand loyalty is worth the least of all the factors. At Edify, configuration is listed and verified on every product across all four brands, so you can compare like for like.
