What refurbished means
What is a certified refurbished laptop?

A certified refurbished laptop is a refurbished laptop that has passed a documented, standardised quality process and is sold with a warranty by an accountable seller. The word "certified" is the difference between a guess and a guarantee: it means the device was graded against fixed criteria, tested across every major component, securely data-wiped, and signed off before listing, rather than simply wiped and resold. Certification is what lets you buy online with confidence without inspecting the laptop in person. With Edify, certification means a 31-category Final Quality Check spanning body, hinges, display, battery health, storage, ports and software, across three stages, followed by a 12-month warranty (6 months on Apple). Treat "certified refurbished" as a promise you can hold the seller to: if it fails, you have a return window and a warranty behind you. Uncertified "refurbished" from an informal seller carries none of that protection.
